About Me
Hi, I’m Mona, a Professional Counsellor.
My healing journey began over 25 years ago and continues to unfold. It all started when I was about 30, and over the next decade, I explored personal empowerment courses, plant medicine, and ultimately somatic therapy. The impact counselling had on my own life was profound, which led me to transition from a career in wellness as a Pilates instructor to pursue my Professional Counselling Diploma at age 52.
Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to meet many incredible people, and these experiences have inspired me to help others. I want to support you in understanding that it’s never too late to begin your own healing journey. No matter where you are in life, it’s always the perfect time to start. Healing is a gift we give ourselves—and everyone around us. When we choose to heal, we move toward becoming our best selves.
I believe in the power of lifelong learning and the brain’s ability to change throughout our lives. Life is messy, beautiful, difficult, and unpredictable. The challenge is learning how to hold it all—the joy, the pain, the grief, the love. My goal is to help you hold it all with tenderness and grace, guiding you to uncover your inner strength and wisdom as you navigate your healing journey.
I’m also deeply connected to the wisdom of the body. When we’re willing to gently hold and witness what needs healing, the body reveals a deep strength that empowers us. This work can be slow and tender, but it brings great rewards.
I’m trained in Trauma, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Somatic (body-based) Therapy.
My aim is to create a warm, safe environment where you feel seen, heard, and accepted for the unique person you are.

Balance: Balance is key to well-being, and it looks different for everyone. My own experiences with burnout taught me the importance of listening to my body and finding harmony between work, rest, and play. Balance is not static—it evolves with each stage of life.
Laughter: Laughter is a powerful tool for healing. It shifts our perspective, reduces stress, and reminds us not to take life too seriously. I’ve learned from my grandmother that humor can always be found, even in tough times.
Passion: When we’re passionate, time seems to disappear, and life feels purposeful. Passion fuels us to push forward, even when we're tired. We can rediscover our passions at any stage of life, helping us stay connected to what lights us up.
Nature: Nature is a deep source of healing for me. I spend time outdoors daily, finding peace and restoration in the natural world. Nature’s sensory experiences offer an accessible, free way to nourish the soul.
